Thank you to all of our thousands of November2nd.org community members. Over the last three weeks, your feedback and enthusiasm has helped us push our voter pledge project to heights we could not have imagined.

When all is said and done, the Midterm Elections were a historic moment for a new generation of organizers and voters to recommit to the American electoral process. We can personally attest to dozens of conversations and inspirational moments with volunteers, friends and site visitors which recommit us to the next two years of civic engagement in America.

Krysten had a chance to sit down with Bakari Kitwana and talk to him about voting in the midterm elections on November 2nd and Youth involvement.

Bakari Kitwana wears many hats. He is a journalist, activist and political analyst whose commentary on politics and youth culture have been seen on the CNN, FOX News (the O’Reilly Factor), C-Span, PBS (The Tavis Smiley Show) and heard on NPR.

When he’s not touring the nation giving meaning dialogue facing Hip Hop, Kitwana acts as the senior media fellow at the Harvard Law based think tank The Jamestown Project.

Kitwana is author of the forthcoming Hip-Hop Activism in the Obama Era (Third World Press, 2011).

Domino from Hieroglyphics Pledges to Vote

Rapper Domino from the Oakland based Hieroglyphics crew sat down with Krysten from the League of Young Voters Fund to show support on the November2nd Campaign.

Domino has gained worldwide recognition and respect in the underground hip-hop world.

In addition to being a part of Hiero, he creates music for commercials, television and video games. His songs have been featured in the EA’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series and on the HBO Entourage Series.

Domino says he is going to vote in the midterm elections on November 2nd.
